Learn the art of quilting and create warm, cozy pieces for your home or as thoughtful gifts. Through four mini-projects, you will develop the essential skills of selecting fabrics, assembling blocks, and finishing your work. By the end of the course, you will feel confident to take on a full size quilt project independently.

Class Outline
Week 1: The first session is an introduction to patchwork and quilting and learn about terminology, equipment, and methodologies. In this class you will be introduced to basic techniques through a small hand-sewn project.

Week 2: Master the basic skills of patchwork, and within a few hours you will have a beautiful pillow cover with an envelope back.

Week 3: This mug rug introduces you to half-square triangles, which can be combined endlessly to make all sorts of patterns. This project also uses patchwork, batting, backing, and binding, so it is in effect a mini quilt.

Week 4: Your last lesson will introduce you to the octagon. By tackling a more advanced shape you will learn tricks on how to tackle many other shapes encountered in quilt blocks. You will make a table runner project.
